Pleasantville's Panthers pulled a convincing upset win over Briarcliff on Saturday, May 26 to win the Section 1 Class B championship title in baseball.

The No. 2 seed batted fiercely supported by stellar pitching from Brendan O'Neill. They enjoyed a 10-run sixth inning to topple the top-seeded Briarcliff varsity boys squad at Palisades Credit Union Park in Pomona.

O'Neill retired the side in the bottom of the sixth to complete a six-hitter.

It marks Pleasantville's first Section 1 championship title in baseball in about 20 years.
